The Economist: Odds seem against double-dip recession

There's been a lot of talk about the possibility of a double-dip recession, meaning that we may go back into recession mode. But those who are predicting this are, at heart, pessimists. The Economist columnist R.A. says he agrees with those who think the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve may now feel free to relax monetary policy, which may help avoid a recession, and those who point out that double-dip recessions are extraordinarily rare (and therefore unlikely).
